The balcony rooms seem to have the best views of Nainital lake, and the complimentary cab pickup from Mall Road is a real help since the hotel sits uphill. We visited with family in the off-season, so the rates were fairly reasonable. Rooms are large, though the furniture and equipment could be better quality. There’s no complimentary breakfast, which was disappointing. A good fit if you want space and a beautiful view.

Parking is available, the location is okay, and the room furnishings are decent. The main issue was service: no health faucet or tissue in the powder room, the electric kettle didn’t work, and no water was supplied. Service was close to zero. Lower-level staff were good, but the managers seemed inefficient and lacking in soft skills. I wonder whether the owner is indifferent or inefficient. For the lake view, stick to rooms 01 to 05; the others aren’t useful for that. Two stars feels generous.

The car was returned with a large dent on the left side and broken glass after being in the hotel driver’s care. CCTV footage showed it had been undamaged when handed over, but staff still refused to accept responsibility. The parking service was terrible. Then Mrs. Sethi, the owner, shouted, was rude, and wouldn’t listen to our concerns or accept blame. The manager was aggressive too, speaking loudly and not letting anyone else talk. It made an already bad situation extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. This was frustrating and deeply disappointing. The lack of basic courtesy and accountability is unacceptable. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this place.

We stayed from 4 to 7 January 2026. The staff were very humble and quick, which was good. Wi-Fi didn’t work in the rooms, though, and the rooms should have central heating. The food could taste better too.
