The home-like feel was a big part of our stay, and the people were really nice. The owner was polite and made us feel at home, while the service was great. The place, food, and overall atmosphere were all 10/10. Try the mushroom duplex, it was really tasty. I’d definitely recommend (pahadi house).

We were a family of four, with two teenage children, stopping at Pahadi House for one night on the way to Chitkul. The wooden interiors are beautifully designed and give the rooms a charming mountain-home feel, but they offer almost no sound insulation. We could hear conversations, footsteps, and movement in the rooms next door. The building itself seems to have potential and no major structural problems beyond ordinary wear, but upkeep appears to have been neglected for some time. The basic cleanliness in our room was disappointing, and that should be non-negotiable for any accommodation. Our main problem was the noise and how guest concerns were handled. During our 12-hour transit stay, several groups and families checked in and out of the room beside ours. It gave us the impression that rooms were being rented for anything from a few hours to several days, with little regard for the comfort of people already staying there. Later, a group of 5-6 people was put in that room. They talked loudly, moved around on the wooden floors, and drank alcohol late into the night. Their dinner service reportedly went on until around 1:00 AM, and the noise continued almost until 2:00 AM. The ground-floor bakery serves delicious food, but walk-in customers can sit right outside guest rooms. Guests may find strangers eating, chatting, and even smoking outside their family accommodation. The property is in the middle of Narkanda market, directly beside the road, and there’s no dedicated parking. People have to park along the road beside the mountain slope. There are lots of monkeys in the area, often jumping and playing in the trees overhead, so falling branches, stones, or other debris are a real concern. When we asked the owner for help with the noise, he essentially said there was little he could do and that we should talk to the guests ourselves. One person in the group was understanding, but others became confrontational and aggressive. I went back to my room to avoid things escalating. My wife and daughter were very uncomfortable and frightened, especially when some of the group continued making inappropriate remarks and referring to us after we’d spoken with them. Instead of getting a few hours of sleep before a long drive, we spent the night waiting for morning so we could check out and continue our journey. The owner was pleasant, polite, and professional in phone calls and in person, but that professionalism didn’t carry over to dealing with our concerns. The food at Pahadi House is genuinely excellent and worth trying. I’d happily return for a meal at their attic café, but I can’t recommend staying here, especially for families looking for a safe, peaceful, comfortable place. Solo travelers or groups who mainly want food and a casual stop may have a different experience.

The momos had a taste I’ve never had before. I’d give this place an extra star if I could. It’s a complete all-in-one cafe. For real reviews, connect with me on Instagram @ridetechofficial.

Easy to find on the main Narkanda road, and the location is great. The rooms and service are good, and the staff are helpful. There’s also a confectionery in the hotel where you can buy cakes and pastries. Veg food was just okay, not especially tasty, but my friends thought the non-veg food was very good. The bakery’s special veg cake was super tasty.

The staff are genuinely kind, and the food is outstanding. I especially loved the hot chocolate and tandoori Afghani momos, easily my favorites on the menu. The wooden rooms have a warm, cozy feel you don’t get in typical hotels. Absolutely loved staying here, highly recommended.
