Hotel Manthan Stays

The staff at Manthan Stays are very kind, and the rooms are well maintained. I slept well and had a refreshing shower this morning. I'm quite impressed.

We have visited Manthan four times, and each time the amount charged was higher than what we had paid before. On this visit, we paid 1400. The receptionist had promised checkout around 6:30, but a woman called at 6:02 and said we had to leave because their clients were waiting. We had to rush, although when we got to reception there was no one waiting. We thought we'd order food through the hotel, which has a tie-up with the nearby Udupi. A friend passing Udupi saw the same menu there, with prices about 200 rs lower per dish than Manthan's menu. After I placed the hotel order, I got a call saying it couldn't be cancelled. We spoke with the Udupi chief and somehow cancelled it, then ordered through the hotel's lower-priced menu. I believe the hotel itself isn't expensive, but they charge people according to their convenience, and I believe the food menu is fake and fraudulent. If Manthan genuinely wants to build customers, they shouldn't do this. They've lost one, and I won't recommend the hotel to anyone. The female receptionist was rude to us, and the male receptionist also didn't try to help. We asked for a plate and spoon, waited 45 minutes, then had to call again to remind them. They brought them 15 minutes after that.

Everything else about the stay with my family last week was very good, including the food, service, and staff. At checkout on 15th april, there were two reception staff. The man was okay, but the woman was arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. The table in my room had been repaired and was already broken before we checked in. I explained that to her, but she insisted I had to pay for it. The male staff member checked it, saw it was held together with tape and had loose bolts, and accepted it was broken beforehand. The woman kept arguing, and her language was very unprofessional. This lady will harm the business. My overall experience was very good.

The property itself was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the male receptionist was polite and helpful. But the female receptionist spoke very rudely to my wife, which left us uncomfortable. We were staying with family, so that kind of treatment really affected our visit. I hope the management addresses it and improves the service.
