Fabhotel Reem Residency

After 12 years of travelling around South India and booking through different online platforms, this is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The washroom and WC looked as if someone had used them before we arrived. Towels weren’t provided until we asked, and the ones we got looked like washroom dusters. The TV didn’t work. A staff member came after I reported it and said he’d fix it, but it was still broken when we checked out. There was no water at night, and when I waited at reception to report it, nobody was there. The Wi-Fi didn’t work during our stay either, and there was no hot water. Very poor service. There’s no lift, so we had to carry our heavy bags to the upper floors ourselves. For 1700/-, there are excellent service-oriented hotels nearby. I ended up here as a last option because the good hotels were already full. I don’t know how this place is listed on Booking.com and makemytrip. When I come to Kochin airport, I usually stay at hotel Anna residency, which has the same budget as Reem hotel and is far better.

The room was untidy, the AC didn’t work, the washroom had no flush, and the linen wasn’t clean. The staff didn’t respond, and the owner was arrogant, as if he were paying us. Such a bad experience. I won’t be coming back.

I checked in on the IPL Final day of the 2024 season and asked the owner to recharge just the Star Sports 1 channel. He refused, citing issues with the cable operator. The service was pathetic and the listed amenities weren’t provided. Not recommended.

The reception guys were awesome, polite, and made me feel comfortable right when I arrived. Everything was good overall. I’m a pure vegetarian, though, and would have felt even better if they had a tie-up with a veg restaurant as well as the non-veg hotel.
