Village Retreat

We usually stay at minerva, but it was sold out this time. After this experience, we're definitely not coming back here. Breakfast was all cold. Poori and chutneys weren't refilled unless we asked, the cereal machine wasn't working and a waiter served from above it with a ladle. Half the containers were empty, and the juices had no labels. The bathroom was awful too: no toilet rolls or shower curtain, a leaking flush, and the handle came off in my hand as I tried to close the door. The basin's water outlet was completely rusted and had no chamber.

The rooms are good, though the taps need regular maintenance and some rooms need pest control. I booked because of the swimming pool, but it was unavailable due to poor maintenance. I request the hotel management to address this.

We were in room no 312 when we went for breakfast and found insects in the food. We're travelling with small kids, so recommending this hotel for safety feels highly risky. The F&B service staff didn't apologize, which was especially disappointing. The front office staff, though, were really good.

I called the night before to ask about rooms and was told they were available. Then I arrived in the morning with all our luggage and they said there were no rooms. Utterly disgusting and unprofessional. It's basic common sense to communicate properly. The person at the check-in counter was completely useless. I wonder how you've managed 25 years with this kind of customer relations desk.
