They let us book without mentioning that maintenance work was underway, and the tap water smelled bad and had clay in it throughout my stay. It made even basic hygiene uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Leaving after just one night because of the water turned into another problem: they said we’d be charged for two days, even though we hadn’t used the water. In Delhi’s heat, having no clean water is unacceptable. At Chowdhry Tourist Lodge, nobody warned us that the water wasn’t drinkable. The taps smelled awful, and the water looked like sewage. We asked for help several times and were told it would clear up in 15 minutes, but it never did. Avoid this place unless you’re comfortable with that and the charge we faced.

We couldn’t brush our teeth or bathe because the tap water was so muddy and unhygienic. When we raised it at reception, they said recent borewell work was to blame and it would clear in a few hours, but it was still dirty when we checked out. Staff were rude about the concern at checkout. The room itself was quite okay, though the bathroom was a horror. I wouldn’t recommend Chowdhry Lodge.

Even washing my hands was unpleasant because the water was cloudy and discolored, and showering wasn’t comfortable either. I told the front desk, but the muddy water never improved during my stay at Chowdhry Tourist Lodge. It spoiled what could have been an enjoyable visit.
