Hotel Malbork Inn @ Janakpuri

The property and rooms are good, and the GM, Sardar ji, is a very nice person. Even the security guard deserves positive feedback. The reception man and woman, though, should be replaced. Neither of them speaks gently.

I picked Hotel Malbork Inn, Janakpuri again because my stay last year had good service. This time was a huge letdown. The sheets were yellow-stained and disgusting, the power cut out three times overnight, and the mini fridge started making noise in the middle of the night. Standards clearly seem to have slipped. I'd tell people to avoid it unless stained bedding, a sleepless night, and random sound effects are what they want.

I left after just four days, even though I'd booked two months ahead for a 26-day stay. Last year I spent a month and a half here and had a great experience, but this time the front desk and management had completely changed. Managers barely looked at guests or greeted anyone, and seemed absorbed in their phones. There was no hospitality. I was promised a call each morning to say whether breakfast would be on the rooftop or lobby level, but no one called. Room 304's phone didn't work either. I had to call the front desk every day to ask them to turn on the hot water, then wait 45 minutes. In my four days there, I got no breakfast and no hot water. The soap dishes held tiny tablets that were too small to hold in a palm. There seems to be no basic training for the managers. The junior staff were a different story. Doorman Sanjay and housekeeping staff Vinay and the others were courteous and hardworking. It's a shame, since this is a nice property and last year's team was so good. I paid 14,000 for those four days without breakfast, hot water, or hospitality. Mr. Mukul Yadav, the owner, I met you last year and praised your service. Please replace the incompetent front desk managers and hold someone accountable. If I were on vacation for a month, I would not want this experience. Negative reviews could hurt your business. Please look at how “Salt Stayz” runs things. The basics matter: their bathrooms have liquid soap and shampoo that get replenished. That's hospitality and care. Thank you.

The main frustration was slow room service, especially when guests asked for evening tea or extra drinking water. Several people had to wait, which took away a little from their stay. Still, the rates were reasonable for what was provided, and the location was convenient. The atmosphere was pleasant and the place was clean. We booked the whole property, including every room, for two days of wedding functions in October, so we had a comfortable, private setup. For the first day's Mata Ki Chowki in the basement hall, the hotel arranged high tea and dinner. Both tasted good, and the spread was nicely done. Staff also helped our Mata Ki Chowki team with decorations and other arrangements, which made the event go smoothly. The next day we held the Haldi ceremony on the terrace. The hotel suggested a decoration vendor who did a commendable job. Breakfast and lunch were served there, with tasty food and timely service. The setup gave the ceremony a lovely feel. Rooms were neat, clean, and well maintained. Housekeeping and general room service were satisfactory, and our guests felt comfortable throughout. Despite the delays, we had a great time hosting the functions here. Quicker service would make this a really good choice for events.
