The Red York

My stay was bad, with poor hygiene, inadequate facilities, and bad service. The rooms were smaller than advertised, and breakfast had only two or three items. Even basic things like towels and water arrived only after I followed up several times. Don't rely on the 4.4 Google rating when deciding to book.

We only picked this hotel because it was nearby and affordable. We needed somewhere to rest in the evening before an early shift, but they wouldn't help us. Even though we'd fully paid through MakeMyTrip, they refused our check-in, saying the app's price was “too low” and asking us to pay more. We spent an hour on this, then they changed the price on their site without sorting out our problem. MMT started the refund, which would take 7-10 working days. The bathrooms had so many mosquitoes that you wouldn't want to go in even to pee. The rooms looked clean only on the surface. We were employees staying on a low budget, and the staff weren't helpful.

Be careful if you're traveling with family. There were men I considered goons standing at reception. They also demanded extra money, saying the app I'd booked through was fraudulent and they didn't accept it. I booked on Cleartrip, but its support wasn't helpful either.

The hotel location is wrong, and good food isn't available on time. Staff don't give priority to room-booking guests, focusing only on the banquet crowds.
