The breakfast was good, especially the idli and chutney, and the staff were kind and tried to help. Still, for what I paid for three nights, the stay wasn’t worth it. We chose Bouganvilla quickly because of the location and look of the property, without much research as our travel date was close. There was no lunch or dinner because of an LPG shortage. Snacks could be ordered, but prices differed between the online list and the printed menu. Tea, for example, was listed at 30 online and 35 on the printed menu. The driver had first been told food, blankets, and washrooms were available at breakfast, but at check-in we were told this came with a charge. The rooms were nice, though dimly lit. There was a bathtub, but it was out of service, and I don’t know how long it had been that way. Bonfires weren’t held every day, had to be requested in the morning, and cost 1500 per night. Only two to four staff members seemed to be managing the whole property, even though they were helpful and pleasant. They also asked for the full remaining payment at check-in, after I’d already paid an advance when booking. For families, parents, or older guests, adjusting here could be difficult.

We found Bouganvilla peaceful and felt safe there with our family. It’s away from the busy town center, and parking was easy. The rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable for a large group. Staff were polite, quick to respond, and genuinely helpful. A quiet, well-kept place for a family stay in Ooty.

The family room would feel 200% worth it if it were under 4k. We had a peaceful stay with friends and family, clean rooms and washrooms, and good food. The bonfire was great, and the property maintainers were really friendly and supportive.

Bouganvilla is a lovely choice if you want a quiet stay in Ooty. The villa feels calm, pleasant, and surrounded by greenery, and the rooms were very clean. The staff were kind and provided good service. We also really liked the tasty complimentary breakfast.

Meals were a highlight for us. The menu isn’t large, but dishes were made with fresh ingredients based on our order and tasted comforting, like home cooking. We often wanted to eat at the property instead of going out. The bonfire, set up in its own private area, was lovely in Ooty’s cold weather and gave us a nice place to spend time together. Bougainvilla is a 160-year-old British heritage property, renovated with care while keeping its old-fashioned charm. There aren’t many rooms, so it feels peaceful and homely rather than crowded. The landscaped garden is beautifully kept, and the whole place has a relaxing atmosphere. A special mix of heritage, comfort, and warmth for a memorable stay in Ooty.
