Club Mahindra Derby Green Ooty

It’s a beautiful property with a lovely range of flowers, and there’s a Krishna temple at the top. The spa makes for a relaxing break. The food menu and activities such as happy hub could be arranged more often for guests. Room amenities also weren’t up to the mark and were provided only when requested.

The gardens and walking paths are well kept, with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the quiet greenery. Club Mahindra Derby Green feels welcoming and well organized, and the rooms were clean, cozy and thoughtfully maintained. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The food was delicious and offered a good range of dishes for different tastes. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful landscape and natural surroundings made the resort feel relaxing. A delightful place to stay and unwind.

The welcome drink was great for Ooty’s weather, and the location is excellent. We had a pleasant stay, though the property is smaller than other Mahindra resorts, especially when it comes to room size and food choices. The staff could give guests more useful guidance. I’d skip the jungle safari, since the long drive isn’t worth it. The elephant feeding camp, though, was a memorable experience and definitely worth visiting.

I stayed at Derby Green from November 29th to December 3rd. The manager, team and restaurant staff were accommodating and hospitable. Restaurant and reception staff were happy to help, and the restaurant and housekeeping teams were kind throughout, especially Jaya. Still, the hygiene and upkeep of both the restaurant and our room at Club Mahindra Ooty – Derby Green caused significant inconvenience. The commode seat had stains that were still visible after Jayshree tried hard to clean it. Dirt had built up in the glass door’s plastic beading, which no longer sealed properly and had turned black. The toilet roll holder sat very low and felt unhygienic to touch, particularly with the dustbin close by. The TV was old and tiny, its remote was broken, and the cupboard hinges were loose. It seemed the cleaning staff weren’t given enough time to properly maintain rooms. Parking was inadequate for the number of rooms, and the rooms looked dated and in urgent need of upgrades. Despite the hefty membership fee and annual maintenance charges, the property didn’t meet the standard promised. Management should audit every nook and corner weekly to make sure the place is being maintained well. For long-term Club Mahindra members like us, the experience didn’t feel worth the money. The staff did their best, but management needs to improve maintenance, make timely upgrades and carry out stricter hygiene checks.
