Itsy Hotels Rain Forest, 1 km from Rose Garden

With a child along, staying here was especially difficult. The service was pathetic, breakfast below average, and there was no hot water in our room. The taps and drains were broken. I’d have rated it even lower if Google allowed.

I’m editing this after someone from the hotel added their own review. They should ask guests to review instead of posting a misleading review themselves. It felt like cheating, even if it’s for business, and I laughed when I realized I could edit mine. As for the stay, one staff member whose name I don’t know was a gem: helpful, polite, and good at his job. The four stars I’m giving for service are for him alone, not the others. The location wasn’t comfortable. If you go out for a walk, you may be better off staying there, since the climb back is very steep. Even in a car, it was difficult. The balcony view was decent, but didn’t make me eager to return. The bed was very old, and I could feel the springs. It gave me backache and made it hard to sleep after a day out. Hot water was provided, but there was a problem and it took at least 30-40 minutes to get properly hot. The taps leaked too. The place didn’t feel like a great hotel. I’ve stayed at budget-friendly hotels that felt much more premium, while this one seemed old, almost refurbished. Breakfast was just okay. An extra plate for a driver costs 120/-, which is expensive even though they call the food homemade. Overall, 2 stars.

We had a nice two-day stay at Itsy Rain Forest. The city and mountain views were lovely, and the location, food, room, and parking were all good. Staff were cooperative and helpful, and our package included decent food. Hot water was available around the clock with a geyser. The one tough part is the very steep walk from the main road, so reaching the hotel without a vehicle is hard. Otherwise, a great experience.
