The Monarch Hotel

We stayed at Monarch Hotel, Ooty at the end of December and had a memorable time. General Manager Mr. Krishnamoorthy was especially welcoming, and the staff looked after us throughout the visit. Our spacious room was comfortable, and the food was excellent with generous portions. An awesome stay.

The location and property around the hotel were beautiful, but the food wasn’t worth it, with very limited choices. We stayed 2 days, and the hotel had no heater available as part of the stay. If you want one, it costs 500 rupees per day, which makes no sense for a hotel in such a cold place.

We went to The Monarch Resort for a school trip, and all the students and teachers had a great time. The staff were kind, helpful, and supportive throughout, while the rooms were clean and neat. Everything was comfortable and well organized. The food was excellent, with great taste and variety. We truly enjoyed the visit and would recommend the resort.

I spent 4 days in ooty and stayed 2 nights at Monarch Hotel Ooty, 4 KM from the Bus Stand. The property is very big, but maintenance is almost zero. The park was broken and covered in dust, the rooms felt very old, with no renovation seeming to have happened since 2005, and the reception steps had an old carpet that wasn’t properly cleaned or maintained. Bedsheet covers weren’t changed often. Food options were limited and there were no health-related items. A heater costs 500 per day. Transport options are very limited, with no auto stand, and if you request a cab or auto, they charge for the round trip.
