Yantra Resort Ooty

Breakfast was good, and room service was excellent. It's a clean, safe resort that works well for families and couples, with a children's play area for spending time together. The one drawback is Wi-Fi: it only reaches the reception, not the rooms. Please make it available in the rooms too.

The room lock was the main concern for us. There wasn't a proper one, and we'd feel more secure with a key lock. Otherwise the rooms were clean, the location excellent, and the food very nice. We arrived late in the afternoon, and after check-in the receptionist helped us order at reception. It came out quickly and was served fresh.

Breakfast was included and served buffet-style, with good options and live dosa and omelette counters. Dinner could be ordered to the room and was delivered there, though the taste was only average. Pradish deserves a special mention for excellent service. We spent three nights at Yantra Resort. Check-in was smooth, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom could use improvement, and hot water is available only in the morning and evening. They provide a heater for an extra charge. A decent stay overall.

The restaurant was untidy, with dead flies on the dishes and seating and live ones buzzing around the dining hall. Seeing the same utensils used despite being told the vegetarian and non-vegetarian kitchens were separate also worried us. Bread was stored in the refrigerator, so I wondered how old it was. When we asked for it to be toasted, we were told that wasn't offered and would cost extra. Eating there was unpleasant. There were several problems in the room as well. The charging plugs didn't work, there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and staff said we could use it at reception instead. We spent two days there without housekeeping. We were also charged extra for a heater, but nobody had told us about the cost in advance. The service and cleanliness made for a very disappointing stay. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves things for future guests.
