The leaking wash basin faucet was the one thing that kept me from giving five stars across the board. Renovation was also going on at full speed during my October 2024 stay. Still, for location, appearance, and rooms, this is one of the best hotels. It’s a classic building with large rooms and lots of woodwork, plus a sprawling garden where you can sit and take in the whole Pahalgam valley. The new approach road is picturesque, and the ambience is lovely. It’s away from the crowds, a place I’d pick to recharge and enjoy some solitude in nature. I stayed here unexpectedly with my brother during an adventure bike trip to Sinthan top, but I’d like to return with my wife. You can take a long, peaceful walk in the woods with your partner and lose yourself in nature. I don’t know why people have rated it poorly over trivial issues.
We spent two days at this resort. The place itself was good, but the promises made by staff and the manager at check-in never came through. On the second day we were moved to another building, where we felt completely isolated, and room service never arrived. There was no hot water in the bathroom in 10 degree temperatures, and no toiletries. The manager was rude, offered no complimentary item, and seemed unwilling to hear our complaints. We raised all the issues, but he ignored us once we had finished our stay. The whole experience left us with trust issues because of the commitments we were given. If you’re going to stay here, please confirm the details and ask about the problems we faced during our trip. I hope management takes this into account and improves things for future tourists.
Set among the trees, Aksa Resort was a peaceful retreat with scenery that stayed with me long after leaving. I spent two nights there, and the stay exceeded my expectations. The staff were warm and professional, making guests feel welcome and valued. If you’re in Pahalgam, I’d recommend Aksa Resort for its natural setting and thoughtful service. It’s a memorable place to stay.
We booked two nights but left after the first one. The drive to the hotel was difficult, along a long, unpaved access road that was tricky to navigate. The room was icy cold and had no heating. Hot water was meant to be available for just one hour in the morning and one in the evening, but there wasn’t any the first night. The room phone didn’t work, and we were told nothing could be done. The bathroom didn’t look clean when we arrived, and there were no towels or soap. Since the phone was out, we had to go all the way to reception to ask for basic items. There was a small kettle, but no tea or coffee bags. The dining room trash can was extremely filthy, with food stains all over its outside. This is not a resort, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.
