The rooms and their upkeep were the worst part. It seems no work has been done on them in the last 4-5 years. They’re small and dirty, the bathrooms are horrible, and the bedsheets and pillows are unbelievably bad. The staff, though, were good and helpful. Management should spend some money renovating and redecorating before anyone visits. The location is the one good thing: it’s away from the main market, but the Lidder river flows just behind the hotel grounds, with private access to the bank.

The service and hospitality stood out, and the food quality was A1. The room and bathroom were clean, and the rooms are huge, easily fitting three adults. WiFi connectivity was one of the best parts. Thanks for all the memories, keep it up. June 2019.

I felt helpless after travelling from delhi and being denied check-in despite having confirmation. The servant seemed taught to repeat only, “i am servant, i don't know.” They were willing to offer a room without booking at a higher tariff, though. When I called OYO, the manager refused to let OYO follow its guidelines. Then I was shifted to Hotel Bright Palace, which had falsely listed facilities on the app, and after that to hotel Tourist Palace, where they also denied check-in despite confirmation and said NO to OYO. I urge pilgrims not to be taken in by hotels with PALACE in their names. You can’t know whether another guest without a booking might offer them more money after you check in with your family, and then you could end up writing a Google rating like mine.

A nice property for the price, with a spacious, clean room and welcoming, polite staff. The TV wasn’t working, though, and they couldn’t fix it before checkout.

We really enjoyed staying here. The lawn has lovely views and gives you access to the bank of the Lidder river, where the hotel is situated.
