Four N Square Residency

The reception staff were efficient, and a lady on the team was especially helpful. The room was clean, the air conditioner worked very well, and the hotel is close to shopping areas. Having a pure vegetarian restaurant downstairs was an added advantage, with good authentic south Indian and north Indian food. One suggestion: the bathroom floor got a little slippery when wet. A bathroom wiper would help alongside the exhaust fan.

The complimentary vegetarian breakfast at Aadhi Bhavan Vegetarian Restaurant was fresh and tasty, and made mornings easy. We stayed in the clean, comfortable Deluxe Rooms at Four n Square Residency from 25th to 31st December. They were spacious, suited our family well, and had good amenities; housekeeping was prompt. The location was convenient, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. The front office and service teams were courteous and helpful. Special thanks to Mr. Dilip, Operations Manager, for responding quickly, accommodating us, and acting on requests. That personal attention added a lot. A few things could be improved. After cleaning, leaving the windows open for a while would help air out dampness or strong room freshener smells before the next guest arrives. Some walls facing the windows need minor repairs and fresh paint to match the otherwise well-kept interiors. A few bathroom mirrors had visible spots and could be cleaned more thoroughly or replaced. Families should also know there’s no kids’ play room, gym, or swimming pool. Even so, we had a satisfying stay, and I can confidently recommend it to families looking for a comfortable vegetarian-friendly place in Palakkad.

The hotel and restaurant staff were decent and responsive, but the person at the restaurant counter seemed impersonal and uninterested. Coffee in the morning took 20-30 minutes or more; when I asked about the delay the first time, the restaurant said it was rush hour. I asked to speak to a manager or the owner, but nobody had their numbers, so I had no alternative but to post this review. The AC switches itself off after 15 minutes. I complained two days ago, but it still hadn’t been fixed, and Pallaksd was sweltering at 33°. The restaurant seems independent of the hotel and only has an arrangement for breakfast. Hotel guests don’t get seating preference; the restaurant's patrons always do. Despite the menu saying meals are available from 12 pm onwards, there were no meals at dinner time. They had what they called "roast", possibly dosas and parotta. I asked for dal fry and parotta, but there was no dal fry, only some paneer dish. Which Mallu eats Paneer?

The price felt a little high, but the rooms were spacious and the staff and service were respectable. The restaurant’s vegetarian food was authentic too.
