O Pescador an Indy Resort

The staff were always smiling, warm, and approachable. They genuinely made us feel welcome throughout our stay. O Pescador set a high bar for my 5 days in Goa. I moved to a 5-star hotel in South Goa for the last 2 days, but in hindsight I wish I hadn’t. The setting was so calm and no-nonsense, with Indian and international guests and authentic Goan design. It’s a small, beautifully designed place that felt peaceful and elegant. The sea-facing room was stunning, right on the sea, and the view and ambience felt like something people usually pay much more for. Getting it at almost half the price made it even better. The location gets all 5 stars from me. It has the calm and charm of South Goa while being relatively close to North Goa. The beach access is exceptionally well maintained and clean, and because of where the hotel sits, the beach feels almost private, with virtually no interference from outsiders. Food was the weak point, at 2/5. Quality, variety, presentation, and serving aesthetics all need improvement. Even small changes like better lighting, curated music, some menu upgrades, and improved plating would help. Nearby hotels had such inviting dining atmospheres that guests preferred eating all meals on site. If the food service were closer to the poolside, with live music, better lighting, and perhaps a grill setup, I’m sure we would have chosen to eat at the hotel for most meals. Room service and utilities also need attention, 2/5. A kettle was broken and a tap leaked. Room amenities and regular checks matter and should be handled more proactively.

We stayed with family on 22-24 February 2026. The location right by the sea beach was lovely, and the ambience was pleasant, but the experience was horrible when my daughter was hurt while playing. I asked for a first-aid box, and they struggled to find Dettol and a bandage. After searching, the receptionist gave me Dettol that had expired 5 years before, so I returned it. Later, when my daughter had a fever at night, they couldn’t provide a thermometer. We felt completely helpless, with no help at all that night. Service was very poor in general. We’d ask room service for something and it could take a few hours to arrive. The rooms badly need improvement and maintenance. They’re very old, the paint is old, there are seepage marks on the walls, the window glass is broken, and cockroaches and ants get inside. It wasn’t value for money. You may find a much better hotel or resort for 5k per night. I hope the owner sees this and makes the necessary arrangements to improve service quality.

The hospitality and service were excellent, and I really loved the clean, well maintained rooms and secure location. I’d seen negative reviews saying the interiors were old or not good, so I was a little doubtful before booking. But the classy room design and the view of the private beach were the main highlights for me. I stayed one night with my family during our recent Goa trip, and it turned out to be the best decision. The restaurant service was very good too. The mocktails were amazing, and I want to thank the chef whose name started with “A”, who served us on the night of feb 4th. I’m sorry I forgot the name. Chef, you’ve got my 5 star for the fruit punch and mint. Keep it up. I’ll definitely visit again and stay for more days next time. Thank you for the hospitality.

The rustic feel gives O Pescador plenty of character, and the place is calm and scenic, with a truly Goan vibe. We had a wonderful 2-day stay, with delicious food and an unbeatable location that makes it easy to get to the beach. The staff and chef were very friendly and accommodating. I’d definitely love to come back.
