Old Quarter by the hostelcrowd

There wasn’t really anywhere comfortable to sit, read, or work. The hostel living room had no proper sofa, just uncomfortable wooden chairs, and the dorms had only one chair and one table besides the beds. It felt like a place to exist in, not relax. The vibe was dead, with no way to mingle. Facilities were bare minimum. The complimentary breakfast was literally bread and cheese, and the staff seemed distracted, clueless, and unwilling to help. The location is the only good point, with everything accessible.

The location was the one positive. Everything else was a serious disappointment. The staff were unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome, and the room was filthy. At one point there was standing water in the space. Basic amenities that had been promised weren’t provided, yet the homestay charged us for services and items we never received. Based on this stay, I strongly recommend against it.

There were no services worth paying for, and even after all of this they refused to offer even a partial refund. The room was dirty and the bedsheet had stains. I wasn’t given a blanket, only a sheet, and when I asked for another because it was cold, he refused. The door lock didn’t work, and there was no lock for storage. The washroom was in a terrible state, and the toilet seat was broken and unusable. This place is a mess, and I’m highly disappointed.

The bathroom leaked, leaving the stay uncomfortable, and the room was in poor shape with no towels or other essentials. When we asked for basic things, no one seemed willing to help. It wasn’t worth the money and needs serious work on maintenance and service.
