Hotel Woodland

The morning staff were much more helpful and capable than the evening team. The hotel itself feels dated, as though there’s no budget to maintain a place that was otherwise well built. Several rooms had broken AC. We were moved once after checking in, then had to move again around 11 p.m. from a room with a slight vomit smell and a long, bright light that couldn’t be switched off. I’ve never encountered that before. They eventually put us in a decent room with working AC and no odd smell, and I still wonder why we weren’t given that room first since the hotel was virtually empty.

The hotel and restaurant are in a convenient spot on Dhangu road, just past venice hotel and opposite Bikaner sweet. There’s limited parking and a small banquet or party hall for 50-100 people. The rooms are worth the price, and they offer laundry, free wifi, and taxi service. We found the place cozy, with a nice ambience, good service, and pleasant staff and management. The bar is attached and elegant, and the food was hygienic and healthy.

During my two-day stay in Aug, 2023, I had to switch rooms five times because of bathroom tiles, poor hygiene, and AC problems. Customer service was extremely disappointing. When I asked reception for mosquito liquid at night, they said they had two and had already given them to another guest. I’m telling people not to stay here, especially with many better options near pathankot railway station.

The food is the main draw for me, top quality and some of the best in pathankot. There’s a large fish aquarium by the seating area, and an elevator for getting to the upper floors. The rooms are nice, and the bar is close to the restaurant. It’s right in the city center, with a great setup for sitting down to eat. A good place for couples or families, and definitely worth visiting for the food.
