Hotel Simvo

The balcony view is amazing, and both the food and service were very good. Everyone on staff was cooperative. The rooms could use some maintenance, though.

The staff were polite and helpful, and the location and views were great. Even from the room, the sight of the mighty sleeping Buddha was mesmerizing. One of my best experiences in Sikkim, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I spent three nights in a deluxe triple room. The terrace view was breathtaking, and the food had a homemade feel. Staff were helpful, too. Getting there may be difficult for elderly guests. The room needs upkeep, and there was hardly any wardrobe. It was also sold as having a balcony, but what we actually had was a shared open terrace. The person handling bookings seemed not to understand the difference. On both the first and second nights, a group of other guests played loud music and drank on the terrace until midnight, without staff stepping in. I'd think twice before bringing my family back here.

The food here was much tastier than what we ordered at local restaurants, and the hotel staff were all very helpful. From our room in Upper Pelling, we had a clear view of the Kangchenjunga mountain region. The hotel is also very close to the city center.
