Hotel Silver Seven

Getting around was a mixed bag. The hotel is in Chinchwad, Pune, about a two-minute walk down from the main road. There’s little parking in front, but plenty across the road. The rooms were comfortable, but the kettle was unclean and the plug points inside the bedside tables were awkward to reach. They didn’t all work properly, so we had to switch between charging a phone and using the kettle. We stayed for two days, but the room didn’t feel prepared for guests. There was no water, and in summer we had to ask for it, only getting one bottle. Toiletries had to be requested too. We had just one bath towel between two people on the first day, though there were enough on the second. No toothpaste or brush was supplied, thankfully we’d brought our own. The toilet paper was scarce and there was no bathroom bin. The food choices were limited, and we didn’t enjoy the food included in the package. Order separately. It was very spicy for us, and the curries looked like they were made with chilli powder. We ordered curd rice to cool things down, but the rice was half done. I ended up with food poisoning, managed to get back to Mumbai, then vomited at home and have been on bed rest for two days. If you don’t eat outside food, check and taste what you order there. The bar staff weren’t ready to serve hotel guests. My husband said they weren’t treated well when they tried to get food either. My sister and I both have diabetes, and after taking our tablets we went to dine, but the first soup took almost 35 minutes. We had to remind the five or six waiters about our food. Evening tea isn’t served from the pantry, so you have to go outside the hotel for tea. Tea bags, coffee and powdered milk weren’t provided, and even if they had been, the plug wouldn’t work. If the plug did work, there was no drinking water. Pitiable.
