La Moon Puducherry

Hotel Lamoon is only 200 metres from Promenade Beach, so the location worked perfectly for us. The owner Mr Sampath and the staff were all extremely polite and welcoming, and the service was excellent. Our room was beautiful and really comfortable. A lovely stay in Pondicherry, highly recommended.

The location is the main advantage, with many places walkable or only a few kms away. Parking is limited to a few vehicles. The free breakfast was average with few options, and the service didn't meet expectations. The pool wasn't cleaned regularly and needs attention. We stayed as a family for 2 days. I'd suggest staying at a good resort and travelling into the city for attractions instead.

We came here at the last minute after a bad airbandb experience, and the hotel happily took us in for almost two weeks. Our children loved the ping pong, pool table, fuzz ball table, chess, and massage chair. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with very comfy bedding. Staff at the restaurant and cafe on the premise were kind and friendly, and the food was excellent. Breakfast was complimentary and simple, either toast and omlette or tasty, fresh South Indian food. We were close to other good clean restaurants, and it was a 15 min walk to the museum, Gandhi statue, and shops. The hotel sits right at the edge of white town, so street noise can be loud on that side. Still, the vehicle free promenade along the sea was a short walk away, and we really enjoyed going there twice a day.

We especially liked the relaxing atmosphere around the swimming pool, and the food was delicious. The staff were extremely polite and helpful throughout our stay. La Moon Puducherry has a lovely heritage and modern design, with clean, spacious, well-maintained rooms. Its location is excellent, just a short walk from the beach and White Town cafes. Highly recommended for couples and families visiting Pondicherry.
