Kit gave us really useful ideas for things to do around Pondicherry, and Anil at reception was friendly and efficient. Naphisha was lovely when serving breakfast, and the rest of the team were excellent too. We had a wonderful week at La Villa, with huge, comfortable rooms, a lovely garden restaurant, and a pool area that was great for unwinding. The beautiful building is in a great spot for using as a base in the city. It’s a special place in such a fascinating city, and I’d highly recommend it.

The tasting menu left me unsure about what was coming or how many dishes to expect, since there was no menu for the evening. The pacing was uneven too, with some courses taking ages and others arriving quickly. I’d enjoyed a nice dinner at La Villa before and chose the tasting menu on my next visit. The food and ambience were wonderful, but the service fell short.

A short, crisp menu with mostly coastal continental dishes, and the food was good with a few distinctive touches. Service was prompt. The heritage building has been turned into a cozy little dining spot with a laid-back European feel. There are rooms there too. A must visit in Pondy.

We were staying at another hotel, and someone there suggested dinner here. We liked it enough to come back a second time. The restaurant is beautiful, quiet, and intimate, with maybe 12 tables. They didn't blast music like most Indian restaurants do. We got an amuse bouche and bread with butter, then had salad and fried prawns to start. For mains we chose snapper and tortellini. The service was attentive and professional. Must be one of the finest restaurants in White Town, highly recommend it!

Getting around was easy since the promenade and everything else were within a comfortable walk. The food was delicious, especially the croissants, and the villa has a lovely historic French-colonial feel with just a few rooms. We had a spacious room and very attentive service throughout. Subhajit, the manager, made us feel welcome, and Anil and Vijay took great care of us. The team even organized a car to Chennai and set up a cycle rickshaw tour of Pondicherry. One of the best boutique hotels I’ve stayed in, and we can’t wait to return.
