We got some great sunrise photos here, and the beach was clean and tidy. One of Pondicherry's best spots to watch the sun come up. Definitely worth visiting instead of spending that moment at another beach.

The promenade is a nice place for a relaxed walk, with plenty of eateries nearby and lovely lighting. It's a vehicle-free zone, and the beachfront itself is tidy, though there’s a lot of rubbish along the shore. They should add more bins and give people who litter a stern warning.

The pier is popular, and I found it worth seeing for the peaceful atmosphere and the chance to take photos. French boats once docked there, but the cyclone in the 1950s destroyed much of it, and it’s visibly no longer in great condition. The surrounding beach is well kept, with public toilets and bins available. Please don't leave litter behind.

At sunrise or sunset this waterfront is especially lovely to sit by and watch the light. It's more of a rocky waterfront than a sandy beach, with rocks to sit on, and the area is very well maintained. I really enjoyed the French architecture and the few French restaurants nearby. A must-see in Pondicherry.
