The only thing that met even a basic requirement was the AC. The rooms were untidy, the beds sagged in the middle and needed repairs, the bathroom roof leaked, and there was no geyser. The TV was just for show, with the cable connection apparently removed intentionally, and we could hear voices from the next room. On top of that, staff were very rude and demanded triple the price shown in the Oyo app. Scammers of Pondicherry. Please avoid getting scammed and disappointed on your peaceful trip.

The room and bedsheets were unclean, and the toilet fittings were broken. Part of the ceiling was broken too. The AC barely worked, going off completely both at night and during the day, and would only stay on for a few seconds. There wasn't an individual remote for it. Worst experience.

The bedsheets smelled like rotten eggs, and AC water dripped into the room. After reading other reviews, I realized OYO seemed well aware of these problems and was doing nothing, so I uninstalled the app and decided not to book hotels through OYO in any city. Thank you for being so pathetic. I thought I'd paid for a hotel, but when I arrived they asked for a physical copy of my ID. I showed my ID, but they called it a duplicate. Then I showed my electronic ID from the Government of India website, which they wouldn't accept. They demanded extra money and said they wouldn't let me in otherwise, and told me to contact customer care. I did, but all I got was “Sorry Sir” and “I'm really sorry, sir.” I paid the extra amount, then realized this was a lodge, not a hotel.

The room wasn't properly cleaned, and a damaged window rattled all night, making it hard to sleep. The hotel lacked basic cleanliness and upkeep. Along with the staff's unprofessional conduct, this left me unable to recommend Hotel O Om Sakthi to anyone visiting Pondicherry. There are much better options in the city. At the front desk, staff demanded extra money as soon as I arrived, setting a bad tone for the stay. That's unacceptable and reflects poorly on the hotel's management. The cleanliness and maintenance problems should have been addressed, especially the noisy window. I'd advise looking elsewhere.
