The manager and staff were good, and the location is handy, close to French Colony, Promenade Beach, bike rentals, restaurants, and the market. A Triple Bedroom costs 1200/- per day, which is a good part of the deal. But the room wasn’t very clean and needs a lot of maintenance. There’s no HOT WATER facility.
Might suit bachelors looking for somewhere budget friendly, but I wouldn’t choose it for a family. It’s close to a bar, so there’s some noise at night.
It’s an okay place if you’re going with friends as a partying group. Hospitality wasn’t good, and 90% of the people who come here seem to be here to consume liquor.
We were 40 people visiting Pondy and only used the lodge to freshen up after bathing at the beach, so we didn’t have much of a stay experience. They charged 75₹ per head for access to 5 rooms for 3 hours, which was cheap and a bargain for the group. Cleanliness was below average.
They didn't seem to expect anyone with an online booking, since they thought they had removed their advertisement. I was given a room meant for 4. The beds were comfortable and nice, but the bathroom was horrible. People could stare straight in, and the stink was unbearable.
