Getting around takes some planning since the property is quite interior. I’d strongly recommend renting a bike or car, and staff can help arrange it. We paid around ₹500/day for a bike during peak season. Some of the approach roads are muddy and bumpy. The curtains let in a lot of morning light, and privacy can be an issue from certain angles at night if they aren’t fully closed. You may hear lizards or other small forest sounds now and then, though it didn’t bother us much. There were a few power cuts, but they have a generator backup. If you’re bringing several devices, a small junction box or extension board could be useful. The sit-out by the room is lovely for coffee or drinks among the greenery. The property is a peaceful, private little villa or row house setup, with around five cottages among trees. The room looked just like the pictures, which was a big plus, and the bed, linen, cleanliness, and hygiene were very good. The toilets were clean, the water pressure strong, the AC worked perfectly, and there were plenty of plug points. Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Just keep in mind that Vana by Loka operates more like a homestay than a hotel or resort, with a limited team, so service may not be instant. It was a peaceful and pleasant stay, a solid 4/5, and a good option if you want a nature-filled break away from crowded tourist spots.

I really enjoyed staying here. The staff are kind and helpful, and there’s laundry service plus a nice little pool to cool off in. It’s one of the few places to stay in auroville with western standards, though it isn’t an official auroville property. The bed, pillows, and linens were good, and the shower area is separate from the toilet, so it doesn’t get messy right after you shower. You’ll want a bicycle or scooter to get around comfortably.

Devyani was so kind and helpful, sorting out an early check-in and late check-out and letting us leave our luggage there. The room was incredibly cozy and comfortable, and the staff were great. I’d happily recommend staying here. Just know there’s a bumpy 2 km ride from the main road to reach the room. 💕

The caretakers were friendly and quick to help with whatever we needed, and our room was clean. vana by Loka is tucked away in a quiet part of auroville, but still connected to other places. We had a lovely stay, and it seems like a nice spot for friends or family to slow down and enjoy some peace. Would definitely recommend it.

The room looked nice and was clean, though the pool seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Getting to the resort isn’t very comfortable, either. I also wish there were a mirror in the room instead of only in the washroom, and an in-house cafe would be useful. It was an okay experience, neither great nor bad.
