Hotel Rainbird

The staff were warm and polite, and went out of their way to help. Their service left a strong impression. The food was a pleasant surprise, very tasty and satisfying, though a little oily for my taste. Hotel Rainbird is very close to the airport, which is handy for early flights, late arrivals, and travelers moving between islands. The rooms are compact but functional, with what you need for a short stay. They could be cleaner, and the finishing touches need work. It’s not bad, just not quite there yet. I’m a birder, so I spend the day out and mainly need somewhere to crash at night. This worked well for me, and would suit other short or transit stays too. It isn’t luxurious, but it’s a practical, well-located place with great food and even better people.

The staff were friendly and courteous, welcoming guests like family, and the hospitality was the best I’ve had in Andaman. The food was amazing and filling, and the rooms were very clean, with the basic facilities needed for a stay. For the services and value, this was the best stay I could find in Andaman. Thank you, Rainbird. It was an amazing experience.

The food was a highlight throughout my week here. The restaurant staff, especially the two brothers at the front, gave beautiful service, and served what was genuinely some of the best food I’ve had. Every dish felt like a work of art. My suggestions are Paneer Paratha, Prawn Malai Curry, Chicken Lazeez, Matar Paneer, Malai Kofta, Schezwan Chicken Noodles, Egg Curry, Aloo Paratha, Upma, and Chole Bhature. Honestly, everything was amazing. The location was extremely convenient, close to both the airport and harbour. The staff were friendly, well trained, mannerly, and helpful. They made my family and me feel happy and cared for during our whole week. They also kept the rooms clean and took care of the laundry. I have no complaints. It isn’t a lavish 5-star hotel, but it felt like nothing less in the way everything was served with love. The stay was absolutely worth it, with some of the best service and food I’ve seen a hotel provide. To me, this was real luxury. I’d choose it any day without a doubt.

The road traffic made the rooms noisy, not the Diwali crackers, and the hotel was a poor place to relax. The flush either didn’t work or only worked once every 20-30 minutes. There was no hot water in the room: what they called hot was cold, and the tap water was very cold. I reported it twice, but nothing was done. We were told to pour three buckets of water down the drain to get hot water, which wastes natural resources and isn’t eco-friendly. Checkout was a pain. The receptionist kept calling the incoming-only landline to tell us to vacate, even though there was no outgoing-call facility on the failed intercom. The staff didn’t ask us to check out, they just irritated us with the calls. When people point out problems, they’re treated as rude. This was the worst stay of our six-day Andaman trip. I wouldn’t recommend it.
