Hotel Tango Waves

During our three days here in the last week of Oct 2019, the service was not prompt and the rooms had a lot of problems. They were very small, had no ventilation, and the air freshener they used had a strong, unpleasant smell. We changed rooms three times. The fan regulator didn't work, and the AC wasn't working properly either. In one room, ice had built up inside the AC. We experienced snowfall in Port Blair! Better to avoid this hotel.

It's not a 3-star hotel. The rooms were clean and the location was good, but I ran into small issues in both rooms I booked. The AC worked well in one room. In the other, it was half-dead, but it did cool the room slowly. The free breakfast was the same for everyone. They said it changes according to the chef, but we got the same poori sabji on two straight days. You can order a different breakfast for an extra charge. Tea is included with breakfast and costs 50rs per cup at other times, but it's very good. The food was good, and the in-house "Salsa" restaurant is why I gave an extra star.

The location made it easy to get around Port Blair, with the main sights close by. Our Deluxe room had a view of the sea through the hotel windows, and the staff were friendly and courteous. We also really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. It was a pleasant stay at Hotel Shine View Port Blair.

We had a hard time here, especially when our booking was missed one day and our room was given to somebody else. The rooms smelled as soon as we walked in, and spraying room freshener didn't help. There were bugs, and the bathroom was only average. Breakfast was free but absolutely disgusting. I also ate dinner there once and found an insect in one of the dishes. Please avoid staying here unless you're truly desperate.
