Sweet Mango Tree Homestay

We had a very bad experience at Sweet Mango Homestay. We arrived around 2 PM and were told there was no electricity, geyser, or AC available, even though our Airbnb booking listed all those facilities. The staff spoke rudely. Later, we discussed the problems with the owner's wife and thought they were settled. But around 7 PM, the owner came back and argued with us rudely. He said, “If you have so many problems, you should not stay at my homestay.” He also made an extremely inappropriate, offensive remark about North Indian people, saying he was scared of them because they create trouble at night. They even asked us to leave that night, despite knowing we were traveling with a 3-year-old baby. The behavior, discrimination, and lack of basic facilities made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. Not recommended at all.

The rooms were awesome and had all the amenities we needed. It’s a little distance from the airport, but manageable if you’ve rented a scooty or another vehicle. The staff, especially Dhananjay ji, were very helpful.

The owner was really helpful, and I had a good stay. The place was clean and the kitchen was in good condition, with the utensils needed to make your own meals. Just bring your own spices and other ingredients, since none are provided.

We didn’t feel comfortable or at ease here, and I wouldn’t recommend it to families. We were treated as if staying there was a favor, not as guests. The host, Mr. Santosh, behaved badly when I raised an issue. Instead of trying to sort it out, he said I could leave that night, even though he knew we had a one-year-old infant with us. Hospitality needs respect as well as rooms, and we didn’t get that.
