Hotel Shivkrupa

We left exhausted, frustrated, and completely dissatisfied. We didn’t get a proper meal at the hotel, and breakfast, promised for 7:30 a.m., was late. When we asked for tea, something basic, the staff blamed us again. Their service was rude and unprofessional throughout, and they kept blaming us for problems that were theirs. For what we paid, none of the promised service came through. The trouble started with check-in. We’d booked for a night check-in, but only on arrival were we told about a strange timing policy that hadn’t appeared in the app or been communicated beforehand. At 2 a.m. they told us to find another place. We had to stay elsewhere for almost nine hours, yet were charged for both days, including the first day when we didn’t stay there at all. After we finally checked in, the electricity went out around 10 p.m. We’d paid extra for a deluxe room but were moved to a normal room, which was smaller, less sanitary, and clearly inferior. We spent most of the night in a standard room despite paying for deluxe. When we raised the power issue, staff said they couldn’t help because we were “outside,” even though other rooms had lights on and only ours didn’t. Taking responsibility clearly wasn’t a priority. The hotel has hidden policies, poor communication, terrible service, and no accountability. I don’t recommend it at all. Stay away. This was pathetic and not worth the money or stress.

The Indian restaurant in the hotel serves really tasty food, and the buffet breakfast was good too. The place was clean, and the location was great. I’d recommend this hotel.

The rooms are average, and the service is a big NO 🙅. We’d paid extra for deluxe rooms, but at midnight had to move into normal ones. The staff wouldn’t even help with our luggage, and they were no help generally. We had an early morning train. We’d confirmed a late check-in with the hotel, but at 3 AM they still refused to give us a room. We offered to pay extra, but they wouldn’t budge, so we ended up searching the streets for another hotel at 3 in the morning. The staff acted as if we were begging for a free stay. While we were out sightseeing on a Saturday afternoon, there was apparently a short circuit in the hotel. When we got back, our room light wasn’t working. They blamed us for not leaving the keys, as if they don’t have spare keys. I wouldn’t suggest this place.

The cleaning staff were polite and the rooms were clean, though the bathrooms weren’t and need better hygiene. The manager showed no respect toward guests, didn’t know how to behave or help customers, and the photos were completely different from what we found on arrival. It was too expensive too. I really suggest not staying here.
