Hotel Lotus

I've stayed here a couple of times and had a great experience each time. It works well for both business and leisure, and was just right for me as a solo traveler. The area is central, upscale, quiet, and decent. The spacious, cozy rooms have comfortable beds and big windows that provide ventilation and a cool view. Bathrooms are clean, hygienic, and well maintained. I also appreciated the dressing area, which I don't often find in hotels at this price. I'd love to come back.

On 8th July 2019, I was charged more than the online rate. There's no restaurant, and food wasn't available at the hotel. In the morning, I couldn't get even plain water in my room. I spent at least an hour trying to get clean water in the bathroom, but despite promises, they couldn't provide a single bucket for a bath. When I went to reception for breakfast, they said the serving time was over. I explained that the problem was their fault, but they offered no compensation. The staff were rude and dismissive. I was a regular customer, but they didn't care. Hospitality was poor, with just a few boys handling everything.

A decent property in a prime location.

The room itself was set up neatly, but the blanket and pillows were yellow and had what looked like black fungus spots. We paid 5.6k for two nights, about what you'd pay for a 4 star property anywhere, and were very unhappy with the service. There was nowhere else available that weekend, so we had to stay. We arrived late, around 6:30 pm. The front desk manager JAI asked for both our IDs. I had a hard copy, while my wife had a soft copy of her aadhar. He told her to send it on WhatsApp. She noticed an email ID under the number at the front desk and asked if she could email it instead. He said no and insisted on WhatsApp. When she politely declined, he asked for a missed call so he could check the guest's number and name on TRUE CALLER, which he said was required by hotel policy. She refused to share her number and offered to write a contact number in the check-in register, but he wouldn't give us the room. We were very reluctant by then, but he kept pushing. We checked other hotels, but nothing was available for the weekend, so she ended up giving him her personal number with a missed call. If he treats women this way in front of their husbands, I wonder how safe single women are here. The manager was arrogant about who the owner was and how he could deny rooms if women didn't call his personal number. This place doesn't make women feel safe. I would not recommend it to married or unmarried couples, single women, or families with women. Downright pathetic.
