During a wedding function at Oxford Golf Resort, Pune, a large barricade fell directly on me and injured my head, neck, and back. I had to undergo a medical examination and was prescribed medication for inflammation from the impact. This was a serious safety lapse involving event infrastructure that was not properly secured or supervised, not a minor mishap. The response afterward was also concerning. I received ice packs and water and was asked if I needed medical assistance, but no manager or senior representative came despite repeated requests. No formal incident report was prepared in my presence, and there was no visible escalation. A venue hosting large gatherings has a duty to secure and monitor temporary structures like barricades so guests aren’t exposed to preventable physical hazards. I formally ask management to preserve and review CCTV footage from the relevant date, time, and location, review its installation and supervision procedures for temporary structures, and issue a written apology acknowledging both the incident and the inadequate on-site response. I expect a responsible, transparent response to this serious safety concern.

We stayed in Suite room 603 in the residences. There were cockroaches on the bed, in the fridge, and near the kettle. When I asked housekeeping, he honestly said cockroaches had been around for some time. Service elsewhere was also frustrating. We know the restaurant is across the way and food can take time, but waiting an hour just for a glass and ice, even after reminding staff four times, wasn’t acceptable. Staff mostly said sorry, then asked us to put things in writing before they could act. The location, rooms, and view are amazing, but our first experience was extremely poor. The resort needs to review these issues. When we pay, we expect basic hygiene and at least proper service. We don’t want to be difficult, but the staff’s attitude left us feeling we had to be. I’d have liked to return for the view, but after all this I don’t feel like coming back.

We travelled from Mumbai to Oxford Golf Club Resort, Pune to celebrate an anniversary, and one of us, me, was eight months pregnant. The stay was extremely disappointing and poorly managed. At arrival, a wedding and baraat were taking place at the main entrance. Wedding event managers, not hotel staff, told us to park and walk about 100-200 meters with our luggage to reception. No hotel representative was there to manage entry or help. I repeatedly explained that I was pregnant and couldn’t walk that far carrying bags, but they wouldn’t let us drive through at first. Only after we lost our calm were we allowed to drive up. It was a stressful and unsafe start. We told Front Desk Manager Shovik about it, but he just said, “this will not happen next time,” without acknowledging how serious it was or showing empathy. I asked to speak with someone senior. Shobik said he’d arrange a callback in a few hours because of the wedding chaos, but none came that day despite several follow-ups. We had booked three rooms and had confirmed minor anniversary decorations in two. None were done, though we were repeatedly told they’d be completed that evening. We returned from a walk and still found nothing done, despite multiple follow-ups and assurances. We also called at least three times for basic drinking water, but it still hadn’t arrived after more than 30 minutes. Badminton, squash, and pickleball were advertised amenities, but unavailable because wedding events had taken over those areas. Nobody told us before booking or in earlier communications that several weddings were scheduled or guest amenities would be restricted. When we raised everything with Assistant Manager Gaurav Sonamne, we initially met resistance. Only after insisting were we offered a refund, but only if we vacated by 8:00 PM that same evening. We’d travelled from Mumbai, it was late, and one guest was eight months pregnant, so that condition was unreasonable. It felt like a procedural offer, not real support. Wedding events clearly took priority over in-house guests even though we paid full tariff. There was no advance disclosure of the events, no accountability for service failures, no senior management available, and no sensitivity to guest safety or comfort. This was well below what I expected from a resort in this category. Guests should be told when large events are scheduled because they affect access, amenities, and the whole stay. What was meant to be a relaxing anniversary celebration turned into an exhausting, stressful experience.

The staff were polite, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, and the resort’s high hospitality standards showed. Mr. Ravi, the Front Office Manager, deserves special mention. He was humble, courteous, and professional, and his warm manner and willingness to help made our stay memorable. He kept things running smoothly and comfortably. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained, with lush greenery and scenic views. Our spacious room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and equipped with modern amenities. The food offered a wide choice of delicious options, and the service was top-notch. From arrival onward, everything was handled with care and professionalism and exceeded my expectations. It was one of my best stays. I highly recommend Oxford Golf Resort for a luxurious, peaceful getaway and would love to visit again.

The location is awkward: the iconic building is up an incline, about a 10-minute walk from the hotel facilities. We asked for a golf cart because there were senior citizens in the family, but they refused. It’s called a pet-friendly resort, yet pets aren’t allowed out of the room or anywhere else. Staff were disrespectful and poorly trained, and the service was nowhere near what you’d expect from a so-called 5-star property. Almost every request got a blunt no, even drinking water or a simple food request. In the library, staff suddenly turned off all the lights while guests were still there. When we politely asked them to leave them on, they answered rudely and banged the door in our faces. The staff attitude was unprofessional, insensitive, and lacking basic courtesy. For the price and 5-star label, it wasn’t worth it. Pathetic experience, more like a 2-star hotel than a resort.
