OYO 10680 Hotel Royal Inn

The location is great, and the room was spacious and clean enough for a budget stay. But there was a strong cigarette smell, and although the toilet worked, it was poorly maintained and definitely needs renovation.

Behind the Siemens Baner office, this is a pocket-friendly place with good service. If you forgot to book breakfast, you can ask for it, but food orders have to be made online. Royal inn supplied cutlery and water, and the bell boys always greeted us with smiles. I liked it.

The manager's behaviour wasn't appropriate, and he didn't bother to fix the washroom issues we reported. The rooms were just okay. He did, however, keep our luggage safe all day after checkout, which he was good about. There was another issue with my OYO booking. I booked through the app or website with a discount coupon, but the hotel owner asked me to pay the discounted amount myself, saying the discount wasn't paid to the owner. Otherwise, we would be denied check-in. This happened three times in one day, at three different hotels, two in Pune and one in Goa. I had to cancel the Goa booking and went for Airbnb. I'm also going to raise this with OYO.

We booked through the Oyo app with cashless payment, but luckily hadn't paid in advance. Only when we arrived did we learn the hotel wasn't accepting payments made through the app. We had to pay the hotel directly, so we didn't get the discount we were supposed to get through Oyo. The hotel itself is nice and basic, and 2020₹ for two nights was very reasonable. The locality is nice too, right behind Cummins campus on Baner high Street. Great for couples.
