OYO Townhouse 177 Balewadi

The room was tiny, about 8x8, and they call it a “triple classic room.” The beds and linens were nauseatingly ugly, hygiene was terrible, and there was pan spit all over, even in the washbasin. They charged nearly 3k a night and didn’t provide bath towels or pillows. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in in Pune. Avoid it.

The place was clean, and the people there were very nice and polite. I really liked staying at Super Town House. The hotel was great, and I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

I’d already paid for breakfast, and at check-in I was told it started at 8am. When I asked the receptionist to send it by then while requesting a towel, he said it might arrive around 8:15 to 8:30. But when I called at 8am, he said I’d misheard and that breakfast was at 9am. The receptionist’s name was Sumit. I checked in around 9pm and there was nothing in the room apart from the water bottle they give at check-in. I called twice for a towel and the wifi password with no answer. On the third call the line was engaged, like they’d left the receiver off the hook. I tried again two minutes later, and they finally answered, sounding irritated, as if I were staying for free. They gave me the wifi password, but no towel. I called again in the morning, and only then did they bring one. The service was awful, and they treated me like I didn’t matter.

Dinner was cold chapati and watery curry, and I’d rather eat street food, which is much better quality and tastes better than the food here. The whole property felt neglected, like nobody cared about maintenance or guests. The lobby smelled damp and musty when I walked in, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Staff seemed annoyed to see a guest and acted like simple questions were too much effort. The room was worse: stained sheets, a bathroom like something from a horror movie, an AC that barely worked, wifi that kept cutting out, and shockingly poor hygiene. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’d rather sleep in my car than stay here. My suggestion is, don’t stay at this hotel.
