Shantai Hotel

We spent four days at The Shantai Hotel in the heart of Pune, and had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. Our room was well appointed, with a good workspace for a laptop, working air conditioning, and strong hot water in the bathroom. Tea, coffee, sugar, and sweeteners by the kettle were replenished every day. The staff were thoughtful and attentive. They quickly brought an iron and hairdryer when we asked, and even cut up guava for us after we mentioned we liked having it in the evenings. We also enjoyed the two restaurants. Cinnamon serves delicious Indian food, while the trendy outdoor Raasta has a relaxed feel and continental options.

For the price, this was a perfect stay. The staff were helpful and soft-spoken, the parking was ample, and the bathrooms were clean. Cinnamon served tasty food, and the hotel breakfast was good too. The property is old but nicely maintained. Rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely arranged, and the hotel is in a great spot in central pune, close to Shaniwar Wada, Shrimant Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati Mandir, and Tulsi baug.

We arrived with family at 2 AM, but check-in was quick and easy, and the staff greeted us warmly. Leaving was just as smooth. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, satisfying, and had a good variety. The staff were polite and friendly, with a genuinely positive attitude. The hotel is in the city center, handy for key attractions and amenities. I had a great stay, would come back and recommend it.

The rooms and washroom were neat and clean, and breakfast was superb. The hotel is good and near Swargate. Reception staff should be more cooperative and polite, and some arrangements for drivers would help. The security guard could also be more cooperative. I know they’re employees following rules, but some flexibility can make guests more comfortable. Everything else was very good.
