The Citiotel

The room, beds, and washroom were dirty and unhygienic, and neither the food nor the service was satisfactory. For what they charge, the service is nowhere near good enough. I wouldn’t pay ₹500 for this room. I kept raising complaints, but nobody listened or did anything. The complimentary services weren’t worthwhile either, and I noticed unprofessional and inappropriate activities. This was a very disappointing hotel and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The location is somewhat okay, but the experience was awful, and the lack of professionalism was hard to believe. I arrived at 4 pm after the reception had confirmed my arrival time. Since their usual check-in is at 11 or 12, I expected the room to be ready, especially as I had an online meeting then. Instead, I waited over half an hour. With no service at the basement reception, I had to stand on the road and join the meeting by phone. The room they eventually gave me was poorly cleaned. There was a used cup and used shampoo and shower gel left behind, the drainage lid was open, and the chair cushion was stained. The AC barely worked, the lights were dim, and shower water wouldn’t drain. The room was so poorly lit I felt like I was sitting in a bar. Breakfast was the final straw. It included leftover cutlets from the night before, methi paratha, boiled eggs, bread and butter, cut fruit, tea, and coffee. I’ve never seen such a cheap breakfast at a hotel. The parathas and eggs were together in one container, while the cutlet was in another, so I didn’t take the parathas. Then I saw cockroaches crawling on the bread and butter. I showed them and said I’d post this review. I’m never coming back.

The room was dirty, and the bed was in such poor condition that I couldn’t get comfortable. I also asked several times for a TV recharge and other basic services, but the reception staff didn’t take my concerns seriously or do anything. The stay felt like a complete waste of money. Poor service and a lack of basic hospitality, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’d give this place a minus rating if that were an option. I booked through your application, but when I arrived, the receptionist said there were no rooms available. He offered one at double the price if I paid him right then. It was late, and I’m a family man, so I was nearly ready to accept. Then I heard two young couples who were totally drunk, shouting, cheering, and making those suggestive noises you know what I mean. I rushed off to another hotel. This didn’t seem like a hotel so much as a place to enjoy Mumbai nights.
