Magnus Calypso Suites

Magnus Calypso isn't worth the money in my opinion. The stay was hectic and uncomfortable, and I strongly wouldn't recommend it. For a family of two parents and a child, the bed is too small. They advertise a “king-size bed,” but what they provide is closer to a Full XL. An extra mattress costs more. Breakfast also has very few options, which is disappointing given the price, and the service doesn't justify the cost. They don't provide a dental kit, shaving kit, shampoo, or body wash in the bathroom. The place is an apartment turned into a hotel, and the setup and upkeep make that clear. The rooms are damp and poorly maintained, with old, unclean-looking walls and electronic appliances that don't work properly. The flooring is worn-out sticker sheets with faded colors instead of tiles, so it looks cheap and unhygienic. Bathrooms are dirty and poorly kept as well, with old walls that aren't cleaned properly.

Wi-Fi barely worked for many days of my stay, which is unacceptable, especially for business travelers. Housekeeping was poor too: the bedsheets weren't changed daily. When I asked, staff said long-stay guests get fresh ones only every other day, something nobody clearly explained at check-in. On 4th Feb, someone took the AC remote from my room and never brought it back. I called repeatedly and complained in person, but no replacement came. I had to control the temperature with the power button (ON/OFF) for the rest of the stay. The reception was frustrating. Several times they said “we are coming,” but nobody followed up. They also charged ₹75 for 3 sealed water bottles marked MRP ₹20 each. Instead of ₹60, they raised the base price under “Mini Bar” and added GST separately. That felt unfair and misleading for basic drinking water. I stayed at Magnus Calypso Suites, Viman Nagar, Pune, and was disappointed. For what I paid, including ₹2500 breakfast, the service wasn't worth it. Transparent billing, working Wi-Fi, clean rooms, and responsive service are basic expectations. I wouldn't recommend it unless management seriously improves service and pricing transparency.

Don't pick this place just because it's near the airport. My experience wasn't good. The AC was malfunctioning, the bed was unclean, and basic hygiene wasn't maintained. When I asked for a dental kit, they said they were out of stock, and there was no shaving kit available. The service was unsatisfactory, so I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I checked in late, at 6.15 pm, and the receptionist was good. They agreed when I asked for a late checkout, but the next day they called at 11 am and said late checkout charges would apply. The receptionist had changed, and the staff didn't seem to have communicated with each other. I felt cheated, though I left without making a fuss. I paid a hefty amount, and because of that miscommunication I won't book this hotel again. I'd stay elsewhere nearby where staff communicate properly.
