Flagship Jagannath Heritage

The room quality is good for the price, but the service was bad. I planned to see the sunrise in the morning, but nobody picked up the phone to open the main gate, so I missed it. The location is bad too. It’s 500m from the beach, down a tiny road, and you have to pay extra for transportation each time. We didn’t always have enough time or energy to walk.

Worst hotel, with a third grade location and super worst staff 😔. Nobody was at reception when I checked in. When I called, they refused to give me a room. I was completely blank because I was there with my family. This attitude came after I had paid in advance.

The staff were very cooperative. I’ve seen reviews saying the beach is very far away, but that’s not the case at all. It’s three minutes from the hotel. The nearby stretch is clean and quiet, away from the crowded part with garbage, lights, and shops, so you can really enjoy the view and sit calmly by the sea. If you want a beach full of people and shops, you’ll need to walk a bit toward the other parts of the beach.

I stayed at OYO 22561 Somnath Resthouse for 7 days, and this is my honest experience. The hotel is way inside puri, so don’t expect to be near the main beach. You’ll have to walk atleast 3kms to get there. I’d rent a scooty, otherwise there’s a lot of walking. Don’t expect much variety in the OYO Complimentry Breakfast. They always serve the same puri sbzi. The only good thing was the staff, who were very cooperative. The room’s AC was pathetic and didn’t cool at all. It finally broke at midnight, so I had to change rooms then. Considering all this, there are better hotels in puri, go for them.
