The complimentary food was good, but the rest of our stay was a horrible experience. The first entry family room smelled strongly of urine. After an hour and repeated requests, they moved us to another room. The property is very far from the Puri sea beach area, and it has no vehicle transfer of its own. A travel desk at the hotel asks 1800 to 2100 for up to four hours locally within 10 km, and the hotel staff support them, leaving travellers with no alternative. A four wheeler to Swarga Dwar beach, 4 km away, costs 800/- for just the drop. The auto outside charges 400/- for a drop or 800/- for both ways up to 5 km. You’ll have a horrible time if you haven’t arranged your own vehicle. It’s a very large property, but it isn’t maintained for guests, and the staff are totally uncooperative. The website pictures suggest access to a private beach, but there’s no security guard there and guests are told to go at their own risk. I wouldn’t book if the main reason is a sea beach experience.

We had a very bad experience at our 30-year Navy veterans’ reunion, held from 04 Feb 2026 to 8 Feb 2026. The hotel’s website calls it a luxury property, but what we found on site fell well short of that. The infrastructure was very old and poorly maintained, and the swimming pool was dirty. Services overall didn’t meet professional standards for a business and celebratory stay. Although we told management our event schedule in advance, the celebration was interrupted midway without warning. The singer was made to stop abruptly, which embarrassed us and ruined the atmosphere. The sound system was very poor and kept cutting out, while exposed wiring across the ground created a safety hazard. The GM (Sales) told us the hotel was already sold out, even though services were still being provided, which raises concerns about transparency and its actual operating status. Breakfast on 07 February was also a letdown. It started late, around 07:30 AM, with very few items ready, so guests had to wait for food and felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. Staff members were cordial and polite, but coordination, service delivery, and professionalism were far below an acceptable standard. Despite asking repeatedly, we were not given a proper GST-compliant invoice, which is unacceptable for official or business purposes and raises financial and statutory compliance concerns.

The hotel’s location, look, ambience, and décor made a great setting for my sister’s destination wedding. The service was attentive and proactive, and every meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and praised by our guests. The whole stay was seamless and memorable. A big thank you to Niranjan Panda, Baral Swain (Head Chef), Tanmay Mohanty (F&B Manager), Shyntan Banarjee, Rahul Kumar (Travel Desk), and Kalikinkar Pradhan (Head – Sales & Marketing). Baral Swain delivered wonderful food, Tanmay Mohanty coordinated the service flawlessly, and Rahul Kumar arranged travel smoothly. Kalikinkar Pradhan ji deserves special thanks for standing by us from the beginning to the end of the wedding. He handled last-minute requests easily, paid attention to details, and made sure we felt supported throughout. His personal involvement and hospitality meant a lot to us. The team turned an important family occasion into a once-in-a-lifetime memory. I’d recommend the resort for a destination wedding or other special celebration.

The scenery at Chariot Hotel was lovely, from the sunrise over the water to the landscaped grounds. The private beach was clean and quiet, a nice place to enjoy the ocean away from crowds. Service was smooth from check-in through check-out, and the team worked hard to make guests comfortable. Miss Varsha and Miss Liza were especially polite, professional, and helpful throughout my visit. I had a wonderful stay, and it exceeded my expectations. A great choice if you want natural beauty and good service together.
