Hotel Bensen Puri

The staff behaviour and cleanliness were excellent, and the rooms were in very good condition. The hotel is well located near beaches and temples. I’ll visit again. Thanks for the service.

It’s reasonably convenient for getting to the railway station and the sea beach, and the food and other services were good. Room service could use some improvement, especially how requests are handled after a phone call. Tea and coffee kits should be available in the room.

The pool, which the hotel advertises heavily, was unusable: the water was dirty, there were mosquitoes, and there was what looked like dog waste in it. The lobby had garbage around, used cleaning carts and dusters were left on every floor, sofas were visibly dirty, and the cups in our room weren’t clean either. We booked three Royal Suite rooms based on the Google reviews, which now feel misleading. Coffee arrived with visible lumps. Staff called them “coffee lumps,” and the mug stayed outside our room for two days. The tea came in a broken cup and spilled. When we reported it, the replacement was cold, unusually dark, and undrinkable. The rooms didn’t live up to the Royal Suite name. There was no proper fan, and the bathroom tap was loose enough to rotate completely. We initially got only one towel, and water bottles weren’t refilled unless we asked. Every small thing needed multiple follow-ups. For the price and the “Royal Suite” label, this was a highly disappointing stay. At one point it felt like we’d paid for a hotel and ended up in a dharamshala-level facility. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but this deserves to be called out so others don’t have the same disappointment. I’d strongly advise reconsidering before booking.

The location was good and the staff were very polite, but room service was terrible. I had to ask several times to get the room properly cleaned. The room also didn’t match the photos. Its walls were damaged and dirty. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had.
