Kakkson Villa

We left after one night, even though we'd booked two. The one genuinely good thing was the food we ordered through room service. The hotel is near the beach, but there's no direct road access. Getting there means driving through narrow, uneven lanes with rubble. MMT called our room a “luxury room with pool access,” though the only things that seemed luxurious were the AC and geyser. There was a small balcony, but dirt and bird droppings made it unusable. The bedsheets, sofa, blankets, and towels were all extremely dirty. Bottled water cost extra; otherwise they served RO water in reused bottles, which I found unacceptable. Internet was so slow that both Wi-Fi and TV were practically useless. The elevator right beside our room made noise all day. I was disappointed that platforms like MMT promote places that don't meet basic hospitality standards.

I booked the semi delux Room directly with the hotel, and it was decent for the price. Water bottles were provided and the room was cleaned on time, but there were no towels, glasses, or plates. When we asked for three plates, they brought only two and said hotel rules wouldn't allow more. I was paying for the room, so that response didn't feel like service. We checked in at 8:30 Am and checked out at 8:00 Am. The place is at light house stopage, then about a 10-minute walk to the hotel.

Rooms that are filthy, dusty, and poorly kept, with dirty linens, can make for a very bad hotel stay. Broken basics such as AC, plumbing, hot water, TV, or dependable power add to it. So do staff who are rude or indifferent and won't address complaints. Sometimes booking photos show something very different from the cramped, run-down rooms in reality. Unsafe surroundings or inadequate security are also major problems.

The room price is about the only thing that isn't worthless. Everything was dirty, especially the bathroom and balcony, and the WiFi didn't work. The food was terrible and seemed stale. There was no landline, and they gave us unsealed water bottles. The room wasn't cleaned properly, and it smelled of smoke as soon as we entered. We called after lunch to have the dishes cleared, but nobody came, so the plate sat there until night. Worst hotel I've ever been to. If I could rate it below 1, I'd give it a minus. -10😶
