OYO 1539 Hotel Sambit International

After we'd struggled for two to three hours, almost until 2 a.m., with no help from the hotel, we had to book another place at our own expense late at night. This was my first hotel experience, and the worst. The owner was rude and unprofessional, showed no hospitality, and the receptionist was rude too. They wouldn't even let us sit while we tried to sort this out. I'd booked this property through Booking.com and paid through a WhatsApp payment link sent by someone who called saying the booking was at Sambit International. The link was under the name Goroomgo. I checked the details, paid, and got payment and booking confirmations by email and text. Two days before the trip, I got another confirmation and the hotel location. On travel day, my train was delayed, so I called the hotel number provided. The person there denied my reservation and said there was no booking in my name. They also said it was for five days and three rooms, which was wrong. The Goroomgo representative repeatedly assured me the booking was confirmed and told me to come. I reached Puri around 11 p.m., but hotel staff denied it again. The Goroomgo person even spoke with them and asked them to let us check in, but they still refused. Booking.com customer care confirmed the booking was valid and said they were trying to resolve it, but nothing changed. The hotel seems to have no proper coordination with booking platforms and doesn't know how to handle confirmed guests. I strongly wouldn't recommend it. Don't book through Goroomgo either, they took my money and denied a refund. The experience was extremely stressful and unacceptable.

Don't stay here, look for another hotel nearby. The AC doesn't work in any of the rooms, and even the toilet flush doesn't work. The place is in terrible condition, and the office staff are ill behaved. Despite several follow-ups about the AC and other issues, they did nothing. A total waste of money.

Good value for money and a wonderful family stay. The rooms were spacious and hygienic, and the food was fresh and tasty. Staff were friendly, especially with the kids, and they took good care of safety and comfort.

The location is the one good thing, only five minutes on foot from the sea beach. The hotel is very old, the room wasn't good, and the geyser didn't work. Service was so-so, the food was okay, and there was no parking.
