Townhouse Puri Formerly Hotel Narashingha

The stairs and lobby smelled of liquor and cigarettes, and the AC didn't work. The rooms were in terrible condition, and the owner's pictures were fake, the actual photos are attached. We got only one towel, which was torn on one side, smelly, unwashed and still a little wet. When we asked for a clean towel, the service staff behaved terribly. The hotel is inside a slum area, and the whole space felt awkward, smelly and awful. Do NOT book through OYO. They'll shift you into a terrible room like this at the last minute.

The only positives were the elevator and 24-hour hot water. Otherwise, the rooms were small and not clean as claimed, and the bed felt like a brick. They couldn't even provide a dry towel, dental kit or soap. We paid 4k per room through OYO and felt brutally scammed. There's no in-house restaurant and no shops nearby, and the area isn't suitable for a family stay. If you're going with your family, don't book this room. OYO forcibly changed our booking to this hotel, calling it a "company service" apartment, but it was nothing of the sort. We accepted the move after seeing some positive reviews, but the reality was nothing like them. If OYO calls and asks you to change rooms for any reason, ask them to cancel and refund you. Don't agree to a room shift or they may dump you somewhere you never booked. If you're going with friends, call the hotel directly and you may get a better deal, around 1k per day, if you have no other place to stay.

I paid in advance for two days, but had to check out the same day I arrived because there were so many cockroaches. We moved to a second room in the same hotel and found the same problem. The manager refused to refund me, while the CHECK IN customer service only offered 20%. Please avoid this hotel.

Sri Jagannath Temple is only 1.2 km away and the sea beach is 600 meters from the hotel. It's a very nice place, and the staff are friendly and cooperative.
