Hotel Gagan Palace is a large hotel at Tatibandh chowk, at the entrance to Raipur. Many visitors coming from Maharashtra Nagpur stay here. There are different kinds of rooms, including AC, non-AC, and general rooms.

You can get a room here at any time, though they feel like old family homes and haven’t been upgraded. My 850rs room had no hot water. Service was very quick, and a Domino's pizza order arrived in under 25 minutes.

Our train was delayed by 3 hrs, and we had nowhere to go in the middle of the night after coming for an exam at AIIMS Clg, 1km from this hotel. They gave us an unclean, unhygienic room. A hotel should provide a clean room as basic courtesy, but they wouldn’t listen to us. The bathroom was the worst part. The non AC room cost 1106 INR. We also contacted their main branch, gagan palace, just in front of AIIMS hospital, and explained what had happened. They listened politely, at least, but weren’t very cooperative. Finding hotels at 3:30 am was a real struggle.
