Golden Heights Residency

Set among the mountains, this place has a heart-touching kind of beauty. It’s a bit outside the city, but the fresh air and views made me feel refreshed inside and out. If you want to wander in the mountains and enjoy nature, you can take in the scenery here to the fullest.

We spent three nights here and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, and the rooms were kept in good shape, with fresh linen each day. After a day of trekking, the bonfire was a lovely way to relax in the quiet, pristine surroundings. Mr. Sanjay Chawla and his staff treated us with so much warmth and affection, something we’ll remember for a long time. It’s a good place for trekkers, and Mr. Chawla’s local knowledge made him a very helpful guide.

I’d love to come back and spend more time here. The food was amazing, and the accommodation felt worth the price. It’s a quiet place to rest or hike, with plenty of pleasant areas to explore on foot. The resort sits in a remarkable spot with mountains on three sides, and the scenery is even better than other locations. A daytime picnic with my own basket would be a fun way to explore.

The setting is wonderfully secluded, and the clean rooms and washrooms were well maintained. Food was excellent, and Mr. Sanjay Chawla, who manages the property, took good care of us. Rajgarh is usually 5-8 degrees Celsius cooler than Kasauli, and it felt cleaner and much less noisy too. We could take a short trek on roads that seemed pretty safe. A 15-minute walk behind the hotel brings you to a stream, where you can sit on the rocks with your feet in the clean flowing water. Getting there is the main drawback. The hotel is 18 km from Rajgarh bus stand, and the road is in poor condition, so that stretch takes almost an hour. Because the property is so secluded, there aren’t other food options, though that mattered less with food this good.
