The parking area is still under construction, but it felt safe. I had a great stay at Hotel the tulip in Bariatu,Ranchi: a clean, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, and a tasty breakfast with plenty of variety. It's good value and not expensive, so I'd recommend it.

The approach is a major problem: the property sits at a dead end in a corner, and the road leading to it is in terrible condition. It's also a long way from the city centre, with no Ola availability, while the taxi drivers the hotel works with will overcharge you. Staff seemed indifferent, and the place is run like a temple Dharamshala, with restrictions on bringing guests to your room and on entering late at night. There are four floors and no lift, so it's not suitable for elderly guests or anyone with special needs. Don't rely on the name or photos, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Couples are welcome, and the air-conditioned rooms on the upper floors have a good view. It's in central Ranchi, with good food at an affordable price. The rate is a little high, but the service made it okay, and you can stay here. Bring a hard copy of your Aadhaar, voter ID, or licence. They don't accept a PAN card.

The route there is a bit messy and is being worked on, but I had a pleasant stay while visiting Ranchi for a friend's wedding. Service was prompt and courteous, and hygiene was well maintained. I'd definitely recommend the place.
