I spent three days at AVN. On the first day, we found a cockroach in the Dal Tadka we ordered. Staff apologized repeatedly and took the dish off the bill, but that put me off their kitchen. Then on days two and three, they treated me and my team very badly. Poor service, poor hotel, and food that can kill you.

Bed bugs left me bitten all over, with unbearable itching, even though the room looked clean at first. During my official training visit to Hotel AVN Plaza, the prawns they served also caused a severe allergic reaction, with itching, swelling, and burning all over my body. I had to rush to the hospital in the middle of the night. This was a nightmare. The hygiene was pathetic, and I felt the place was unsafe and unhygienic. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially a woman traveling alone. Disgusting and disappointing.

The location is handy if you need to be near the railway station, about a 5-6 minute walk, with plenty of public transport options outside. Food was good in both quality and quantity, and service was prompt. The rooms are clean and hygienic, but very small for the price, and there are no opening windows, so it can feel suffocating. The receptionists were generous when I asked for a slightly bigger room, and they moved me to one.

The complimentary breakfast was really tasty, and the staff were cordial and very supportive. Rooms are a little small but neat and clean. It’s a nice three-star property within walking distance of Ranchi Railway station.
