OYO Flagship 7852 Hotel Embassy

The free breakfast was quite good, and Wi-Fi was included, though the speed was 1Mbps. The AC and television both worked well. At 2000 INR per day, the price seemed fair, and the hotel is only half a kilometre from Ranchi Railway station, right in the main city area. Our room was decent but not very well maintained. The floor was quite dirty and there were no slippers. I expected a little better service for the rate. Still, it was a pleasant stay and a reasonable place for a few days in the city. They offer three room categories, and breakfast is included, but not lunch.

The restaurant was decent for the price, with generous portions. Indian dishes were better than the Chinese food, though the taste was average. The receptionists were friendly, and if you explain a genuine problem, they may allow an early check-in without charging extra. Many of the guests seemed to be from Bengal. The location is the main plus, very close to Ranchi Railway Station. My room was only average, and several lights didn't work. The bathroom exhaust was broken, so after a few hours a bad smell spread from there. I also saw baby cockroaches on the bed and floor. Cable TV stopped working on the day I checked out. The place needs prompt renovation and pest treatment.

It's a handy option for a short visit, about 250 mtr from Ranchi Railway Station. There's a lift, which made getting to the room easier, and the staff were good to deal with. I booked through OYO. The room was small, and having two separate beds made it feel even tighter. The washroom wasn't up to standard. The bed, linen, towel and blanket were clean, though, and the AC worked properly. I didn't eat at the hotel.

The water from the taps was dirty, and the room smelled bad, with no room freshener used. The bedsheets also hadn't been washed properly. Room service was dismal, and the intercom didn't work. The photos of Hotel Embassy on the OYO portal are old and don't look like the actual rooms. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.
