Hotel Tribhuwan by Goroomgo

We paid 2000 per night after bargaining and took two rooms. The hotel felt poorly maintained: the carpet smelled and was dirty, the bedsheet was dirty, and the bathroom wasn’t clean either. There were no basic room items such as slippers or a kettle, and the reception phone didn’t work. There was no breakfast, lunch, or dinner facility. The door handle was in bad shape, and it seemed the door could break if you hit it.

It’s listed as a 3-star hotel, though the minibar seems to be the only star they mention. Service was appalling, and the staff seemed highly untrained and completely lost when it came to customer service. They also have a one-towel-per-room policy.

Good location, and there’s hot water. Nice hotel.

Rates are reasonable compared with other places to stay in Ranikhet. The rooms are spacious and the view is satisfactory, though cleanliness and tidiness could be better. Parking may be a hassle: using the hotel parking means carrying your luggage up four flights of stairs. The food is decent, but it comes from outside vendors, which could be a hygiene concern.
